Toby Keith Raises $11,250 for Oklahoma’s Kids
Country music superstar and CHF supporter, Toby Keith, played in this year’s annual Ace Shootout to raise money for Oklahoma’s sick children and ended up raising $11,250 for the state’s tiniest heroes.
Sponsored by national partner Ace Hardware, the 2020 Ace Shootout brought together teams of celebrities to compete in fun challenges on the Mauna Kea golf course in Hawaii, all to raise funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Keith and fellow country music star Colt Ford participated as “Team Entertainment,” playing against other celebrities such as Cal Ripken Jr., Brian Urlacher and Paige Mackenzie.
Gov. Frank and Cathy Keating, CHF Board of Advocates members, applauded Keith’s participation in the massive fundraising event. “Once again, Toby Keith is an Oklahoma Redwood. His spirit, generosity and kindness makes it possible for young Oklahomans to have a healthy and better life. He is an indispensable champion for Oklahoma kids and Children’s Hospital Foundation.”
Keith won the Online Fan Favorite contest by a landslide, securing a $10,000 donation for CHF, as well as placing in the Sharkbite Long Drive contest, bringing his donation total to $11,500. All of the funds raised by Keith from the Ace Shootout are being used for the Pediatric Cancer Program for research and clinical care.
For the past 22 years, Ace Hardware has hosted the Ace Shootout to raise money for CMN Hospitals nationwide. Since its inception, more than $27 million has been raised to ensure sick kids are treated with quality care and invaluable awareness for the organization has been raised.
Children’s Hospital Foundation funds pediatric research, education and clinical care programs, ultimately supporting The Children’s Hospital in serving every county in Oklahoma. All funds raised through Children’s Hospital Foundation stay in Oklahoma so children will have access to exceptional pediatric specialists without having to leave the state.
