Ace Hardware Helping Hands Gift Is Improving Sensory Deregulation in Local Community

Big News for Our Community!

We are beyond grateful to Ace Hardware for their generous $5,000 donation in support of our Sensory Backpack Initiative! This incredible donation to Children’s Miracle Network at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital has helped bring sensory backpacks, resources and education beyond hospital walls and into local businesses, providing children with sensory deregulation the tools they need to navigate everyday spaces like restaurants, stores, museums, and more with greater comfort and confidence.

Through Ace Hardware’s gift, our Cabrini Pediatric Therapy Center has provided many local Cenla businesses with sensory backpacks filled with a compression vest, noise cancelling headphones and two types of fidget tools to help regulate a child’s fight or flight response to sensory stimuli. Ace Hardware’s gift didn’t stop there as it also provided on-site sensory training for business staff and educational videos for future staff onboarding.

Thanks to Ace Hardware’s generosity, more families will have access to resources that make outings smoother, more inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone. Together, we are building a more supportive community for children with sensory needs!

Thank you, Ace Hardware, for being a true community champion!
