Local Ace Hardware Stores Put Their Own Personal Touch on Fundraising in Maine
Here in Maine, we’re incredible fortunate to have the support of nearly every local Ace Hardware store. From Ace bucket sales to participation in the annual Round Up for Kids campaigns, the commitment of our local Ace locations led to a banner fundraising year for The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH) in 2023.
While many of our local stores choose to participate in the national fundraising campaigns that feel like the best fit for their team and customers, we’re also proud to share (and brag about!) some of the unique ways that our local Ace stores achieved record fundraising results last year.
Oak Hill & Dunstan Ace Hardware
In 2023, Oak Hill and Dunstan Ace Hardware, located in Scarborough, Maine chose to make a personal $25 donation to BBCH for each grill that was sold throughout the entire year. They saw great success with this campaign in 2023 and have decided to continue this generous effort in 2024!
Guilds Country Hardware
Our Ace friends at Guilds Country Hardware in Livermore donate the proceeds from their apparel sales to BBCH each year. Customers can feel great about shopping local while knowing their supporting local, too!
Plummer’s Ace Hardware
In 2023, Plummer’s Ace Hardware in Westbrook, Buxton, Limerick, Gorham and Waterboro celebrated a remarkable 100th anniversary in Maine. To add to the excitement, each store partnered with a local non-profit for their anniversary weekend, offering a 20% discount to customers in exchange for a donation to the chosen charity. BBCH was honored to be selected as the beneficiary at the Westbrook location and had a wonderful time connecting with their customers!
